A Canadian man pleaded guilty yesterday in federal court in Las Vegas to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The plea is part of a broader case involving multiple defendants and an alleged scheme to steal millions of dollars from bank accounts.
The Alleged Scheme
According to the indictment, the defendants allegedly conspired to use stolen personal information to gain access to bank accounts and transfer funds out of the accounts without authorization. The scheme is said to have targeted over 140 Bank of Montreal customers and resulted in the theft of millions of dollars.
