Brighton Hove Labour release their manifesto

Labour pledges to make Brighton Hove a better place for all

Manifesto includes pledges to restore public services, tackle the cost-of-living crisis, and build more affordable homes

Brighton Hove Labour have released their manifesto for the upcoming local elections, pledging to make the city a better place for all its residents. The manifesto includes a range of policies to improve public services, tackle the cost-of-living crisis, and build more affordable homes.

Labour leader Nancy Platts said: "Our manifesto is a bold and ambitious plan to make Brighton Hove a better place for everyone. We are committed to restoring our public services, tackling the cost-of-living crisis, and building more affordable homes.

"We believe that everyone in Brighton Hove deserves a fair chance to succeed. Our manifesto sets out a clear plan to make that happen."

The manifesto includes a number of key pledges, including:

  • To restore public services, including increasing funding for schools, hospitals, and community centres.
  • To tackle the cost-of-living crisis, including by freezing council tax and providing financial support to low-income households.
  • To build more affordable homes, including by increasing the number of social homes and providing financial support to first-time buyers.
  • The manifesto also includes a number of other pledges, such as investing in renewable energy, improving public transport, and supporting local businesses.

Labour is confident that its manifesto will resonate with voters in Brighton Hove. The party is hoping to build on its success in the 2019 local elections, when it won control of the city council for the first time in its history.

The local elections will be held on 4 May 2023.
