Boston Dallas Game 2

Celtics Dominate Mavs in Game 1 of NBA Finals

Boston's Depth Proves Too Much for Dallas' Star Duo

In a highly anticipated matchup, the Boston Celtics showcased their depth and dominance in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, securing a commanding 107-89 victory on June 6, 2024.

While Dallas' star duo of Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving combined for 43 points, Boston's balanced attack proved too much to overcome. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 25 points, while Jaylen Brown and Grant Williams contributed 20 and 17 points, respectively.

The Mavericks struggled to contain Boston's big men, with Robert Williams III and Al Horford combining for 20 rebounds and 9 blocks. Dallas' efforts to slow down the Celtics' transition offense were also unsuccessful, as Boston scored 21 fast-break points.

With Game 2 scheduled for Sunday, the Mavericks face an uphill battle. Dončić's questionable status due to an ankle injury adds further uncertainty to their chances of bouncing back. The Celtics, meanwhile, will look to continue their momentum and seize control of the series.
