NHLPA Announces Nominees for 2024 Ted Lindsay Award
Auston Matthews, Nathan MacKinnon, and Nikita Kucherov Vie for Prestigious Honor
TORONTO (May 8, 2024)
The National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) today announced the three finalists for the 2023-24 Ted Lindsay Award: Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche, and Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Ted Lindsay Award is presented annually to the player voted as the most outstanding by his peers. The award is named in honor of Ted Lindsay, a Hall of Famer who played for the Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, and Los Angeles Kings during his 17-year career.
Kucherov is a two-time winner of the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL's leading scorer. He has also won the Hart Trophy as the league's most valuable player. Matthews has won the Maurice Richard Trophy as the NHL's leading goal scorer twice. MacKinnon has won the Hart Trophy once and the Lady Byng Trophy as the NHL's most gentlemanly player once.
The winner of the Ted Lindsay Award will be announced at the NHL Awards ceremony on June 22, 2024.
